Welcome to Three Chicks and a Whisk food blog! We’re Alissa, Leah and Rachel, three millennial chicks with a passion for cooking, baking and entertaining.  Three Chicks and a Whisk is our way of sharing how to make the adulting of cooking doable. And even enjoyable (gasp!) for our fellow millennials. Let us make the mistakes & perfect the tricks to help you impress your friends, family, coworkers and potential in-laws (yes, we said in-laws) or just make your Monday night dinner.

So who are we? Why are there three of us? Why did we start a blog?  Well it all started in the not too distant past, in the gorgeous upstate town of Ithaca.  All three of us met while attending Ithaca College and formed a lasting bond while struggling to survive the near-arctic winters and demands of our studies.  Now, as working professionals we found ourselves feeling nostalgic for those carefree college days and seeking a creative outlet. Finding that we all shared an interest in cooking and baking, we figured why not combine our ideas and bring them together in a blog.  Specifically, why not something millennial focused, for people of our generation? Our friends seemed to lack the motivation or skills we’d somehow acquired when it came to cooking and baking. To the point where it became intimidating. Spaghetti and homemade meatballs on a Monday night?  Oh god no, that’s rocket science, better takeout! Okay, so maybe not full-blown homemade spaghetti  meatballs on a Monday night. But really, it’s not as hard as it seems.

We figured we could share our recipes, tips, and tricks to help inspire our fellow millennials to get off seamless, skip the drive through, put down the frozen burrito and pick up the spatula and give it a go in the kitchen!  Once you get started we swear it can even be fun!
