Lobster is the ultimate celebration food. Birthday’s, anniversaries, promotions, valentines day, lobster makes any occasion feel extra special. It can also be very intimidating to cook, especially when the lobsters are still live! That’s why I love this recipe, its simple, quick, and doesn’t involve live lobsters. Lobster tails are easily accessible at your local grocery store, ask at your fish counter, or check the frozen section. Also, look for tails that are pre-split, it takes all the hard work out so all you have to worry about is cooking and seasoning. With all of that painstaking prep-work done for you these baked lobster tails will come together in a flash and impress at your next celebration. You’ll look like a real culinary expert !
Baked Lobster Tails
Ingredients
- 4 - 4 oz lobster tails pre-split
- 3 tablespoons butter melted
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon fresh parsley chopped
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees
- If your lobster tails aren’t pre-split you can split them yourself using kitchen shears. Cut down the middle of the top of the shell towards the tail cutting in a straight line. Do not cut through the end of the tail.
- Using a spoon, separate the meat from the sides of the shell
- Once separated lift the meat up and out from inside the shell laying it on top of the shell over the seam where the two sides of the shell meet
- In a small bowl, combine the butter, salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, lemon juice, and parsley,
- Ladle or brush the butter and spice mixture evenly over the lobster meat
- Place the tails onto a rimmed baking sheet. Cleanup is easier if you line the sheet with foil as well.
- Bake the tails for approximately 12-15 minutes, until the lobster is fully cooked but not rubbery
- Remove from the oven and serve with a lemon wedge or extra butter for dipping
