Valentines Day Spritz cookies

Spread the love

These cookies are made with a cookie press. I never used a cookie press before but now that I have, I can’t wait to make this recipe for any and every occasion. The reason why it’s called spritz cookies is because it’s the German word for squirt as the dough “squirts” from the cookie press.  This recipe can be adapted for any occasion. For valentines day I used red food coloring gel, and the heart shaped cookie press disk shape. But you can use any color gel to dye the dough and disk shape. Such as Yellow colored summer flowers or green colored 4 leaf clovers, orange maple leaves, green Christmas wreaths, and so on and so forth. You don’t have to use a cookie press to make this recipe, it just makes it easier to shape.
