Salsa Rice

Ingredients

white basmati rice
½
Cup
salsa

Cup
water

Cup
sauteed peppers and onions
if desired

Tablespoon
hot sauce
½
Teaspoon
red pepper flakes
if desired

Teaspoon
garlic powder

Teaspoon
salt
Instructions
In a microwave safe dish with a lid, combine the rice, salsa, water, hot sauce and spices
Stir all of the ingredients with the rice so it's well combined
Cook rice in the microwave for about 10 minutes or until just done (no longer hard, but not mushy)
While the rice is cooking saute finely chopped peppers and onions, if desired
When rice is finished, remove from microwave carefully as it will be hot
Stir the rice and mix in the sauteed peppers and onions
Return the lid to the dish and allow to stand and cool for 1 to two minutes. After 1 to 2 minutes check the rice to make sure it's done and serve
