Mummy Dogs

Spread the love

Who doesn’t love pigs in a blanket?  Those were always my favorite appetizers at family parties as a kid.  So I figured why not go full-size and festive for halloween!  Just as easy as the bite sized version, you really only need three ingredients and a few helping hands and these come together in just minutes. These treats are made easy by using pre-cooked hotdogs and tasty yet simple pillsbury pizza dough.

  • 1 Package Pillsbury pizza dough
  • 1 Package hotdogs 8 count
  • 8 Slices cheddar cheese
  • Sour cream and sliced olives for decorating

Instructions

  • Following the directions on the pizza crust preheat your oven to 400 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment
  • Unroll the dough and cut lengthwise into ½ inch strips
  • Open your hotdogs & cheese
  • Wrap a slice of cheese around a hot dog and then wrap one of the strips of pizzadouch around the hot dog to make it look like a mummy
  • Overlap of the dough is preferred as it will help keep the cheese inside, most of the hotdog should be covered
  • Repeat this for all 8 of the hotdogs
  • Place the finished mummy dogs on the prepared baking sheet at least an inch or so apart
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes until just golden brown
  • When finished remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly
