Pumpkin Pie Smoothie

Tis the season for spice!!  I wanted to spice up my breakfast literally and figuratively, in a healthy way. The ingredients has a healthy balance of fiber, protein and fat to start the day off on the right foot. Plus I usually have oatmeal in the morning, I can’t start my day without it. And what better way to incorporate fiber in my diet then to add some pumpkin. Festive and Healthy!

To make the smoothie thicker and more robust I froze the banana overnight. This is not a required step, the smoothie will still taste delicious without it.

Pumpkin Pie Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 cup nonfat greek yogurt
  • ½ cup canned pumpkin
  • ¼ cup instant oatmeal
  • ¾ cup ice
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 frozen banana
  • ½ tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice

Instructions

  • Put all the ingredients in the blender, pulse the blendr until the ice is crushed and mixed thoroughly. Serves 2
