Watermelon and Pineapple Smoothie

In the summer all I want to do is lounge by the pool with a cool drink and relax.  Even if you don’t have a pool or a beach handy this refreshing smoothie will make you feel like you’re relaxing by the water.  Simple and filled with fresh fruit it will quench any parched palette.  If you’re looking to spice it up a bit its also great with a splash of vodka.

Watermelon and Pineapple Smoothie

Ingredients

  • ½ Cup fresh pineapple
  • ½ Cup fresh watermelon
  • ½ Medium banana
  • ½ Cup crushed ice
  • 1 or 2 Tablespoons honey or maple syrup if desired

Instructions

  • Chop up the fresh fruit into small cubes or slices
  • Combine all ingredients in a blender or food processor
  • Blend fruit until smooth, but be careful not to over-blend
  • Enjoy in a tall glass or mason jar with an umbrella (if you have one!)
